AWOL (Anton's Workout Outdoor Lifestyle) is an intense outdoor cardio exercise class run by (predictably) Anon Slabbert who has 11 years experience as a personal trainer. Starting from the local high school in Camps Bay each class sees exercisers running off in different directions for a unique workout class. Examples of the kinds of lessons that can be expected:
- Jogging around Camps Bay, Clifton and the high school fields
- Sprints are a particular favorite of Anton's
- Running on the beaches of Camps Bay and Clifton
- Up and down the many staircases of the Clifton area
- Push ups, sit-ups, squats, triceps dips and lunging can be demanded at any given time
- Skipping is another favorite exercise (you get a skipping rope when you join)
Hourly classes are run daily: 6AM, 7AM, 8AM, 5PM, 6PM (no evening classes on Fridays). Every class is different with Anton planning weeks so that exercises are seldom repeated. Evening classes are normally attended by between 7 and 15 people which means that individual attention is guaranteed.
Note that people with a very wide variety of fitness levels attend AWOL classes together. Anton makes sure that there are regular meeting points with the fitter people doing more exercise but staying close to the less fit. Don't worry if you are currently unfit!

- Try to bring along some water - especially on hot days
- If the weather is bad classes move into the highscool hall
- Anton tries to get you to push yourself - a good thing. But make sure that you don't hurt yourself by going too hard
- Classes are at the Camps Bay highschool
- There is a parking lot in front of the school where people meet
