The Artscape Theatre (formerly known as the Nico Malan Opera House) is Cape Town's largest and most modern theatre complex. There is a large 1145 seat opera house, a 540 seat theatre and 2 smaller arenas seating between 100 and 200.
The Artscape stages operas, musicals, plays, music productions, and ballets - check the website or phone for schedules. There is a restaurant and the normal interval coffee options are available too.
The official Artscape website does not give a good idea of what is currently showing. It is easier to check the associated CompuTicket sites from which tickets can also be directly bought.
Getting There
- The Artscape Theatre complex is located on DF Malan in the Foreshore (very near the Civic Centre)
- It is often easiest to park on Adderley Street although there is undercover parking available
