Riboville Restaurant and Cellar

Ribovilles is a luxurious and expensive restaurant created in the renovated old ABC bank on Adderley Street in the center of Cape Town. The different rooms within the bank have been painstakingly renovated and restored to create a large restaurant with several sections.

The Riboville menu (available on from the site - see contact information) is fairly varied, but the focus appears to be on seafood. There is a selection of sushi and several seafood platters on offer. The restaurant does allow for customization of the seafood platters according to diners' needs. There is also an Asian section on the menu.

There are a few rooms for private dining - for instance the old bank manager's office has been converted into a smoking room or private dining area complete with wood paneling on the walls and leather couches. There is also a cigar "library" in one of the other rooms - the Green Room. There is a wine and piano bar out on the terrace where light lunches are served during the day and over 60 wines are offer by the glass at night.

The vault of the old bank has been converted into an extensive wine cellar. Diners are encouraged to head down there in order to select a wine - but don't worry there is assistance on hand from the cellar master.
