The Book Lounge is an independent bookshop on Roeland Street that specializes in local books. The staff takes a personal stake in the books that are stocked which leads to a good selection and excellent advice from the staff.
The shop itself has been well renovated and there are comfortable chairs spaced around for those who feel like browsing. There is also a little coffee shop and apparently wine will soon be on offer - the aim is clearly to create a comfortable atmosphere.
Although The Book Lounge specializes in local and unusual titles shoppers can also expect to find new and bestselling items as they would in a 'normal' book shop.
- There are readings for children on Saturdays at 11:00
- The Book Lounge does free deliveries to addresses in the City Bowl
- The Book Lounge is on the corner of Roeland and Buitenkant Streets - diagonally opposite Carlucci's
- If you are coming down De Waal Drive it is on your right at the big intersection with Buitenkant
- If you are coming down Buitenkant The Book Lounge is on your left at the intersection with Roeland
