The Labia is an independent artsy movie theatre showing mainstream and alternative movies. There are two branches quite close to each other - one at 68 Orange St and the other in the Lifestyle center on Kloof St.
The theatre was originally a ballroom for the Italian embassy, but has been operating as a movie house for 20 years. The relaxed and alternative feel is attractive to many patrons. There is a bar and coffee as well as the normal sweets and drinks on hand. It is quite an experience to be sitting in a movie theatre and sipping at some coffee at the same time!

- Take advantage of the fact that you can have a glass of wine or a cup of coffee while watching your movie
- The Labia and Kauai offer a great special on Thursday and Friday nights - pay R60 and get 2 movie tickets and 2 Kauai meals. Go to Kauai (in the Lifestyle Centre) to purchase your meal
- There are two Labia theatres
- The one on Orange street is on the curve before the meeting with Long/Kloof Streets but after the Mount Nelson - on the left as you head towards Lions Head
- The Kloof Street branch is in the Lifestyle Centre - on the right as you head up Kloof Street - after Nandos and opposite the Engen
