Wafu is a restaurant and cocktail bar above the Wakame restaurant in Mouille Point. The deck area and restaurant have excellent views over the promenade and the Atlantic across the road. Wafu is popular as a bar, sundowners spot and as a restaurant. The deck is particularly popular in summer.
The menu offers an "assortment of fresh sushi, dim sum and fish, meat and poultry dishes" which are all relatively pricey. Many people don't eat and instead relax and have drinks on deck area overlooking the ocean.
Getting There
- Wafu is on Beach Road in Mouille Point
- Coming from Sea Point get onto Beach Road and drive towards the lighthouse
- As you pass the lighthouse the road curves to the right - continue
- Wafu is on the right above Newport Deli. There is a small parking area outside the restaurant
- To enter you must walk into the parking area and the door is signposted - there is a doorman
- You must walk up the stairs to get into Wakame and then take the stairs on your left up to Wafu
Good sushi item
Wafu is a great spot for an early dinner watching the sun set over the ocean. We often head out there in the early evening and grab a table before the rush starts.
There is a 9 piece fashion sandwich item on the menu which is very affordable. R49 for tuna or salmon
