Panchos is a great Mexican restaurant in LOWER Main Road Observatory. Helpings are large and delicious, the place is always full and ambiance is fun. The price isn't too bad either.
This is a relaxed restaurant which fits the theme and has an effect on the ambiance. Tables and decorations reflect this relaxed attitude, but the staff are actually remarkably good for this kind of restaurant. Note that there is a courtyard section and a large smoking section - booking ahead of time will give you some choice.
You can request your food spicy but in general the mild portions are very mild and can be eaten by most. There is a wide variety of choice and the food is great.
The frozen margaritas on offer are delicous and make for a really fun evening - to be recommended. They come in lemon, strawberry or a mix which is a great choice.

- Look for the right turn near the McDonalds onto Observatory Main Road
- Head most of the way through Obs Main Rd and Panchos is on the left near the traffic lights at the end of town
- If you get to the traffic lights you have gone past it
- By Train, on the Fish Hoek / Simon's Town line, get out at Observatory Station
