The Premier Classe train travels between Johannesburg and Cape Town twice a week. Each trip can accommodate 126 passengers in what is meant to "recapture the long lost elegance of luxury train travel and the personalised service of a bygone era" in an overnight trip.
The service is outstanding with great food (and LOTS of it), the train is beautiful, the scenery outstanding and compared to flying very affordable (3 meals included).
The price of the trip includes all meals (four course lunch and five course dinner), tea and coffee in the departure lounge, afternoon high tea and bedding. You can book into a single room or a two person sharing room.
The route travels through some beautiful parts of South Africa including the Karoo and from the comfort of the train this scenery can be fully appreciated.
