Yum is a vibey and popular restaurant in Vredehoek that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. They call their food 'eclectic cuisine' - as well as the normal pastas, burgers, and breakfasts, you can expect to find unusual items such as Thai style mussels or a Cajun chicken and coriander salad.
Weekends can be quite busy in the mornings as Yum serves a popular breakfast. The food is good, but expect a long wait and on occasion some surly staff.
Tips
- Don’t go to Yum in a hurry as the food often takes quite long. If you are OK with that then you are going to have a good time
- There is a downstairs section which is popular for watching sports events
Getting There
- To get to Yum you need to get onto Upper Buitenkant Street which runs past the Gardens Center and is accessible from Orange Street
- Continue all the way up this road through the curves until there is a park on your left and the road splits - this is Deer Park Drive
- Yum will be across the road on your right - turn around and come down the other side and Yum will be on your left
