Quay Four Tavern is the relaxed section of the well known seafood restaurant at the V&A Waterfront. It serves salads, a variety of seafood, burgers and steaks for prices more reasonable than those upstairs. This is a relaxed spot where you will feel equally at home enjoying a good seafood meal or a beer with some snacks.
There are a few non-smoking tables inside, but most of the seating is in the open area in front of the bar and out on the terrace next to the water. There are views of the working harbor and you'll occasionally see a seal among the gulls. This is a popular spot for people to relax, have a beer and enjoy a few snacks.
On most nights there is live music from 20h30 onwards and the tavern is popular during sporting events when the action is screened using a projector and plasma screens.
- If you want non-smoking then it is advisable to book in advance, but otherwise you can generally find a table to suit you
- Quay 4 is located on the pier in the front of the V&A Waterfront
- Head out of the mall and past the Cape Union Mart and Quay 4 is on the left
- Make sure that you stay downstairs or you'll land up in the more expensive seafood restaurant upstairs
