Satori Camel Run

The Satori Camel Run is a new 10mile (16km) running race through Noordhoek and its surroundings. 2008 is the first year that this even is being run and the final route has not been finalized yet. However, the website refers to beach, road and mountain running. Part of the race will be through the Cape Point Vineyards and there are prizes for King and Queen of the mountains at the top of a hill in the vineyards.

Hatfields is a restaurant and bar in Gardens, very near to the famous Engen garage. The downstairs section is dedicated to a bar and restaurant which serves pub food. On the second floor there is a pool room and a room housing several slot machines. Finally, on the top floor there is a lounge section coupled with another bar for the more relaxed.

Nursery Ravine is one of the paths heading up the mountain from Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. From the top corner of the gardens this route rises up the mountain over hundreds and hundreds of stairs. The path is very well maintained and these stairs are a real help when the path is wet and when coming down.
