The Dias Tavern is a Portuguese restaurant in Caledon Street (City Bowl) near the Castle. There is a large menu but the focus is on meat (steaks, prego rolls) and the large seafood selection. You can view a detailed menu here

Café Sofia is a small and modern tapas restaurant and bar on Kloof Street. The menu includes a variety of light meals and tapas choices for a relaxed meal and drink. There is a bar within the restaurant and a fairly extensive cocktail menu. Café Sofia is open for breakfast lunch and dinner daily.

Café Caprice is one of the most popular spots on the Camps Bay beachfront, attracting the trendy crowds. It is a restaurant with a surprisingly good menu, but seems to come into it's own as a bar/club. There are two bar areas and the DJ works to get a party atmosphere going.

Knead is a bakery in Wembley Square that has quickly become popular among locals. There is a bakery section selling a variety of high quality breads, pastries, pies and treats over the counter.

Foresters Arms in Newlands is far better known as Forries and is probably Newlands's most popular pub. It is a vibey place that is often packed to capacity when there are sporting events to watch. There is a large bar area and there are tables sprawled around the establishment.

Many people don't realize that it is possible to visit the parliament of South Africa. Visitors can arrange a tour (about 1 hour) or even attend a debate in parliament. All of these services are completely free, but must be arranged ahead of time.

The Paulaner Brauhaus is a Bavarian restaurant and tavern in the Clocktower area of the V&A Waterfront. The menu consists of a variety of German dishes including of course schnitzels and sauerkraut. The restaurant is also a "genuine German microbrewery" producing and selling a variety of beers.

Noordhoek Farm Village is located at the Southern end of Chapmans Peak Drive and offers 3 restaurants, plenty of stores, 2 pubs, a children's playground and an organic nursery. Because of the central kids playground and relaxed open atmosphere this is a very popular stop for families - kids are off to play while mom and dad have a bite to eat or even stop off at one of the pubs.

Sable Square is a fairly new Outlet Mall - basically a grouping of factory shops selling excess stock at reduced prices. Most articles about Sable Square quote an average 30% reduction in pricing on stock sold in the factory shops for major brands. The catch is that the stock is excess and normally from lines that have already ended.

Montague Arena near Century City in Montague Gardens is a well run arena offering a variety of indoor action sports. The games are designed to be fast-paced and as fun as possible. To a large extent everything is designed to cater for players of various abilities and the umpires provided try to make sure that everyone has fun and the games are tight.

Vibrant, vivid and wonderfully eccentric are some of the descriptions that come to mind when stepping into the Bohemian Yard Restaurant. A return to yesteryear; a time when dining out was an affair of the senses and a reason to dress up and indulge in all sorts of hedonistic activities! With goblets of wine in hand, you will be hard pressed to make a choice between the grilled fillet of beef and the lamb shank, knowing that you will have to squeeze in the pavlova and an espresso after that.

The Satori Camel Run is a new 10mile (16km) running race through Noordhoek and its surroundings. 2008 is the first year that this even is being run and the final route has not been finalized yet. However, the website refers to beach, road and mountain running. Part of the race will be through the Cape Point Vineyards and there are prizes for King and Queen of the mountains at the top of a hill in the vineyards.

Hatfields is a restaurant and bar in Gardens, very near to the famous Engen garage. The downstairs section is dedicated to a bar and restaurant which serves pub food. On the second floor there is a pool room and a room housing several slot machines. Finally, on the top floor there is a lounge section coupled with another bar for the more relaxed.

Newbie Bowls is an organisation which organizes and facilitates lawn bowls parties and functions. The aim is to introduce people to the sport of lawn bowls in a fun group environment. There are two package options both of which include a quick lesson, use of the clubhouse and all equipment. Groups can range from 6 to 108 people.

Nursery Ravine is one of the paths heading up the mountain from Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. From the top corner of the gardens this route rises up the mountain over hundreds and hundreds of stairs. The path is very well maintained and these stairs are a real help when the path is wet and when coming down.
