Sea Point Promenade

Average: 4.3 (19 votes)

There is a wonderful paved walkway stretching from the Lighthouse in Greenpoint till the far end of Sea Point (with a little bit of road walking I have walked from the V&A waterfront to Camps Bay safely and easily).

Tafelberg Road

Average: 3.9 (9 votes)

Tafelberg is the road to the Cable Station on Table Moutain but it continues for about 6km along the base of Table Mountain and around the bottom of Devils Peak. At the base of Devils Peak the road is closed to all vehicles so it is popular among walkers, runners and cyclists.

Table Mountain via Platteklip Gorge

Average: 3.9 (14 votes)

This is the simplest and most common route for climbing up Table Mountain. You start from Tafelberg Road and proceed up a steep gully to the top of Table Mountain. Once at the top the Cable Station is a short (10 minutes) walk away so you could even take the cable car down. This little add-on is well worth it just for the views over the city, Atlantic ocean and Robben Island.

Noordhoek Beach

Average: 3.4 (7 votes)

There is a long, white beach stretching 6km from the base of Chapmans Peak in Noordhoek to Kommetjie along the freezing Atlantic. Known alternately as Noordhoek Beach and Long Beach this is a popular spot for long walks. The water is generally too cold for all but the most determined swimmers but the beach is still popular on warm days.
